Life Explorer Fall 2006, Software Architecture for User Interfaces Life Explorer began as a wild dream of a wearable digital assistant that recorded everyday human interaction, very much to the vein of Microsoft's own myLifeBits project (as we later found out). Given the time and hardware constraints of the project, eventually we decided to refocus our efforts on the software and data management aspect to such a system, and with a greater emphasis on a user's activity in the virtual world. The end result was a fully working prototype of this system, conceived and completed in less than a month's time. I was in charge of the viewer application, a user's portal to his/her daily interactions. In order to keep with the spirit of this site (short and to the point), if you'd like to learn more about the project I urge you to read the final paper, which is linked on the side. |
